Elevators in China ‘beep’ when they have reached the weight capacity. This was a pretty hilarious discovery when I was riding in one the other day and a group of 15 or so drunk men crammed in. The thing started wildly beeping and one by one, they took turns stepping out until the beeping stopped. Rule abiding citizens Chinese people are. If we had that beeping set on our elevators in the Western world, something tells me that it wouldn’t phase too many.
